This training applies to:
  • Scoutmasters & Cubmasters
  • Webelos Den Leaders
  • Parents
 
Outdoor skills are critical to the success of the Scouting program, and Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills will provide leaders with the basic outdoor skills information needed to start a program right. The skills taught are based on the outdoor skills found in The Boy Scout Handbook.
 
In order to facilitate training opportunities, this course offers a youth program.  Youth will share camping arrangements with their attending parents.
 
All adult participants will receive BALOO and IOLS on their training records.  Those staying for the Sunday morning session will also receive the position specific training relevant for their current role.
 
Bring to camp:
  • clothes
  • equipment required for a 1 night camp-out in the foothills

Required before you attend:

  • YPT (Youth Protection Training), this can be completed by logging into or creating a My.Scouting.org account and taking the online training.  Please bring a copy of your completion certificate to camp.
Wear:
  • Field and Activity uniform/Class A

Cancellation Policy
Refunds will only be issued for courses cancelled by council. All other cancellations will not be refunded, but monies can be applied to another course in the same year.
